The summer shows are all greatest hits.... been this way for the past few years...to our loyal disappointment :(

If I lived in Vancouver, I would do everything I could do to catch all three shows however! I have to believe that all three will feature different sets and a handful of surprises...

Just my assumption.....maybe I'll be wrong.

I'm going to head to the three Vancouver shows with hopes of a few surprises. No matter what The Hip plays, I can't seem to get enough :)

so listen.

i dont know whether the band so the horrific review or what, but...........

f**k everything I've said that was negative in the last couple of months. Based on this performance tonight. NOTHING. NOTHING is wrong with this band.

firing on all cylinders. Gord SANG everything great. Not much, yelling, the odd words of course for emphasis. Other than that. NO COMPLAINTS.

last of the unplucked gems!?!?!?
springtime
longtime running
opening with music at work
CLOSING WITH FIRE IN THE HOLE (hadnt seen since 2007)

fantastic show, set, performance. :jump

shook gords hand, someone tossed a cowboy hat up near the end of the show, hit him in the face, he was pissed, but restrained. he gathered the hat, gave it to me, i promptly tossed it back to the 30th row like a frisbee!

There was also a girl worth mentioning in front of Paul who danced ALL NIGHT. ALL NIGHT. every song. in a tragically hip shirt. all night, dancing. not just pogoing or jumping, but like rave dancing with arm and leg movements. it was good.

During Drip Drip, the lines......"when you thought all my dreams sucked.........i was just happy you gave a f**k" i gave Gord a double middle finger about 60 cm away from his face. he LOVED...it was a moment.

at the end of set 1, he struggled to unplug the mic, but when accomplished, he hand to a pregnant women in the front row.

it was the longest into a show that I had not heard NOIS, BLOW, BONES, ever.

security did not let us go up to lean on the stage during the encore as they have done in past years.

anyways, thats what I can remember, getting it down now......enjoy. tonight was friggin GREAT.

pics to come and maybe a vid.

set: 8:15 to 10:08

Nice setlist, but down to 19 songs. For the price of the tickets this is robbery!

That's a pretty good setlist, especially after what they've been pulling out lately. The Gus, Nashville, Gems run early in the set must have been pretty sweet.

Of course you should! If you don't go they will lay down one of the sickest sets yet. If you do go there is an 80% plus chance it will be yet another great Hip live experience.
