I remember not enjoying her back up vocals at the 2000 show I attended, they just don't mesh well with the band in my opinion. I do like the addition of the keyboard to the line up, it also worked for the 2009 theatre tour.
I was curious if that's what soured me to the shows I saw on this tour in person. I was never a BTC fan, and while I appreciate she's a good singer it's not a style or approach that I particularly like. I'm going off memory -- it's either this show or a video of another same era -- but she adds a different timing to Flamenco that sort of throws it off for me. For whatever reason, Gord can mess with the timing and I'm fine with it, but with her I sort of see it as grandstanding (I don't think it is, just my gut reaction). On the other hand, I've seen others call it the best version of the song (best version I saw in person of that song -- Ottawa 2016, holy smokes Gord nailed it). This show, it was not until the end where I really noticed her in the mix.
I do like the keyboards -- I agree, I liked what Jim Bryson added to the sound in the WATS tour.
