Hipbasers at the show. Not all of them but the ones that got in the picture when it was taken :P

From left: TigerTheLion (dude I keep forgetting your name!), Hugh (Hugh23), Jamie (thehip11), Jamie's gf Jen, Rory's fiancee Brandy and Rory (wpghipfan). I'm not in the picture because I took it!

Great meeting you guys and I'm sure we will again in future tours.

The secret is out. The identity of tigerthelion has been revealed. :P Cool pic Highlander. Again, it was great to finally meet some of the hipbasers and I'll be looking for the recording of the concerts! What a great group of people eh? :thumb: Oh yeah, name's Steve! :D

Thanks for the kind words from all my friends here. I truly enjoy and get excited about going to a Hip show, even though I have been to almost thirty. It has been much more fun being a Hip fan since The Hipbase came into existence. I love coming to this site and reading others opinions about our favorite band. I have made some good friends through this site and I look forward to meeting others at the shows I attend.

I am not old friends of the band members. I met some of them during the IVL tour and I think they remembered me because of my high energy and my love for their music. I went to 11 shows on this tour and sought the guys out after each one. I tried not to be too overwhelming when I met them and I think they appreciated that. We became good aquaintences and after a while they would say hello whenever they saw me. Each one of the guys has said something special to me or done something nice for me. As all of you know, they are down to earth. Robbie seemed to take a liking to Carolyn and I. We consider him to be a good friend and we hope he feels the same.

Best. Thread. Ever.

I could take the low road and say how jealous I am of all your great experiences, but I won't do that. Instead I'll say congrats and I hope you truly enjoyed and treasured your experiences with the Hip and other Hipbasers, and I hope to have a similar experience myself some day. :thumb:

couple of things...

thanks for waiting or including me in the pic...jerks!

rory, any word if the other taper came through on recording? will there be a complete dvd done up? also any word if there were any tapers getting the audio for a good audio mix? A friend was a few rows back and thought you were actually part of the crew, he couldn't believe that we were going to get a dvd out of this

the next morning i had to be up to go back into halifax to do an interview with JP Ricciardi and my voice was so hoarse it wasn't funny, when i listen to it on the recorder it sounds so thin and weak, damn them hip

i really wish we had have hit the seahorse in retrospect, unfortunately we hit the casino and it was more money down the drain, luckily in the morning i was able to say "yeah but i did see the hip from the front row"

You left before the picture was taken :P

There is another hipbase user that videotaped the show and he's been contacted. He knows a guy who knows a guy that may have recorded the Hfx show audio only. If it's good it might be a good dub-over for the Hfx DVD sound portion. I got a lot of nasty looks from security and other people there who thought taping the show was illegal. Was kind of funny.

I think they booked the Seahorse as a private party. You probably would'nt have gotten in anyways. Still would have been amazing to be at a private party with the guys and crew. Damn you Hugh! hehe.

Heya Scott...

Thanks for the kind words... and yes, she is gorgeous. I don't know how a goofy stiff like me got so lucky. It's the whole Billy Joel-Christie Brinkley thing... except I don't have money or the talent. Lyle Lovett-Julia Roberts comes to mind as well... But she is something else... best looking woman ever to grace a picture on the Hipbase

hey everyone great great site ya's got here!!!

we made the long drive from p.e.i. from this show, the whole thing was an adventure!!

we were barely able to cross the confederation bridge due to high winds, they actually set up a road block at the last exit on the new bruswick side when we were driving by!!!

Sam from tpb was indeed working security he frisked me!!! lol

it had almost been five years since i seen the boys play, so i was ready (i did see gord solo in ch'town last winter)

what a great great setlist, tight as hell on the last nite of the tour, i had a blast (after being re-directed to our real seats during joel's set lol)

the selection of songs for the 3rd encore totally blew my mind, tough luck for those ppl who left early!!!

and please i read there's a video of this show floating around? i would LOVE to see it, i dont have much to trade, but i have scans of old newspaper reviews of concerts ive seen, and muchmusic specials (i & E) also got the cbc special 'full fledge vanity' from years ago

cheers

Clayton

I'd imagine in good time... In any event... I have a question about said DVD. Is the plan to include a slideshow from it? Here's crossing my fingers for one (a la Sydney), because I forgot my camera (HOW!?) and as such, I have no pics of the show...
